Maltese savoury cake

This Maltese savoury cake was a first for me. This recipe has come from my distant cousin who currently lives in London. It was an old recipe he got from his dad (my mum’s cousin) who he had from his mum (my mum’s aunty). A great new Maltese recipe which I will be making more often. This savoury cake is made from mince, onion, garlic, potatoes, marrows, aubergine, eggs and tomato paste. Next time I will also add some roast peppers. A delicious comforting meal. …

Maltese kusksu is a wonderful heartwarming soup. Made with broad beans, peas, giant couscous and, as an extra option Maltese cheese and eggs can also be added. I also added a teaspoon of dried mint to mine. Happy 2016 everyone. This is going to be my month of Maltese soups….
