Kwarezimal - A Maltese lenten sweet which is dairy free and egg free

This recipe makes 9 biscuits which are around 10 cm long, 4 cm wide and 2 cm thick. They contain no dairy or eggs and are a traditional Maltese Easter sweet. I usually serve mine sliced into thin slices as I find one whole biscuit is usually too much.
